On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a book presentation by Vasyl Vovk — Ukrainian military, political, and public figure, Major General of Justice, Ph.D. in Law, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, and state security expert — took place at the library of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University. During the meeting, he presented to the university community his works: “The Holodomor of 1932–1933: The Genocide of the Ukrainian People” and “Through Sloviansk to Paris by the Military Paths” by Vasyl Vovk.

The first book provides a detailed account of the tragedy of the Holodomor of 1932–1933, focusing on the key events that accompanied the organization of the global investigation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine. It also covers aspects of the pre-trial investigation and court proceedings, highlighting the difficulties and obstacles created to prevent the transfer of materials to court. Particular attention is paid to the role of experts and active participants who sought to truthfully reveal the scale of the Holodomor and ensure that those responsible would be brought to justice — as crimes of such magnitude have no statute of limitations. At the same time, the author analyzes the current insufficient awareness of this tragedy. The book raises the important issue of introducing criminal liability for denying or minimizing the scale of the Holodomor.

The second book, “Through Sloviansk to Paris by the Military Paths”, is a chronicle of the events of 2014–2015, when Vasyl Vovk headed the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine. It is a personal diary that reflects the difficult beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine: negotiations on prisoner exchanges, the Ilovaisk tragedy, the Minsk agreements, and the path that led to international cooperation.
After the presentation, everyone had the opportunity to receive Vasyl Vovk’s autograph and ask him a few questions.
