On October 23, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a Resolution amending the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada “On the Approval of the Regulations on the Passport of a Citizen of Ukraine and on the Passport of a Citizen of Ukraine for Traveling Abroad” regarding the regulation of certain issues related to the issuance of identity documents for citizens of Ukraine.

The approved amendments stipulate that all entries in the passport of a citizen of Ukraine, issued in the form of a booklet, shall be made in the state (Ukrainian) language only.

It should be recalled that under the current version from December 9, 1994, paragraph 4 stated that all entries in the passport and the information about its holder were to be made in both Ukrainian and Russian.
