As of the morning of May 18, the full amount of bail in the amount of 140 million hryvnias, set by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, was paid for the former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak. This was reported by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.

According to journalists, about 200 payments were recorded during the fundraising. Some of the transfers were symbolic amounts – in particular, 1 kopeck each. In total, more than 154 million hryvnias were received into the account.

Despite the funds being deposited during the weekend, the verification of the receipt of the bail is carried out only on working days, so on May 16 and 17, Yermak remained in the pre-trial detention center.

What is the former head of the OP suspected of

On May 11, the NABU and the SAPO conducted investigative actions against Andriy Yermak in Kyiv. Later, he was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – legalization of property obtained by crime.

The investigation links the case to the possible laundering of 460 million hryvnias during the construction of the Dynasty cooperative near Kyiv.

Yermak himself denies the charges. After being served with the suspicion, he told reporters that he would provide a comment after the completion of the investigative actions, and also emphasized that he does not have any home, except for an apartment and a car.

What preventive measure did the court choose

On May 14, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals chose Andriy Yermak as a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 140 million hryvnias.

After the court’s decision, the former head of the OP stated that his defense would challenge the preventive measure in the appeal procedure.

Who posted bail

According to journalists, in the first hours after the arrest, various individuals began to actively transfer part of the bail.

In particular, the head of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” Roza Tapanova contributed 8 million hryvnias, and lawyer Serhiy Sviriba – 6.5 million hryvnias.

Another payment of 666 hryvnias was made by Hryhoriy Hryshkan, who calls himself an actor and public figure.
