The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced that one of the senior officials of the Security Service of Ukraine obstructed the conduct of investigative actions. According to NABU, the official threatened detectives with the use of firearms and did not allow them to enter the place of the search.
This was reported by the NABU press service and sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to the anti-corruption agency, the detectives conducted investigative actions based on the ruling of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC).
However, during the execution of the court decision, one of the senior SBU officials, according to NABU, began to threaten with the use of firearms and obstruct access of law enforcement officers to the place of the search.
In addition, according to the Bureau, SBU special forces arrived at the place of the investigative actions.
“Such actions are unacceptable and impede the performance of the legal procedural duties of NABU detectives,” the department emphasized.
Who is said to be involved in the incident
According to sources of “Ukrainian Truth” in law enforcement agencies, this is General Serhiy Duka.
He holds the position of First Deputy Head of the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Previously, the official’s name was already mentioned in the context of investigative actions against employees of anti-corruption agencies.
In particular, according to the Anti-Corruption Center, in July 2025, under the leadership of Serhiy Duka, the SBU conducted more than 50 searches of NABU detectives.
What is known about the situation
NABU emphasizes that the investigative actions were carried out on legal grounds in accordance with a court decision.
At the same time, the circumstances of the conflict between representatives of the two law enforcement agencies and the reasons for the search are not currently disclosed in detail.
As of the time of publication of the report, there is no official position of the SBU regarding the alleged circumstances of the incident in the material provided.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau promised to provide additional details later.
