All educational institutions in Ukraine must be fully prepared for the start of the new academic year by September 1. This was emphasized by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi following the results of the Cabinet of Ministers meeting.

According to him, the Ministry of Education and Science reported on the state of preparation of schools, and the government identified key priorities at the final stage.

Security is the main priority

One of the top tasks remains ensuring the safety of students and teachers.

In particular, the following is underway:

construction and arrangement of shelters;

provision of territorial communities with school buses.

The government paid special attention to providing students with textbooks.

“Despite Russian attacks on printing houses and warehouses, students of all grades must be provided with textbooks in full,” Serhiy Koretskyi emphasized.

Increase in salaries and scholarships

A number of social changes in the education sector are planned in Ukraine from September 1.

In particular:

the salaries of teaching staff will increase by 20%;

student scholarships will double;

more than 3 million schoolchildren will be provided with free meals.

The Prime Minister emphasized that all issues that still need to be finalized must be finally resolved before the start of the new academic year.
