In Ukraine, the selling prices of autumn apples continue to decline. In the last week alone, the cost of quality products has fallen by an average of 20%, and compared to the end of August last year, apples of the new harvest are being sold for 44% cheaper.

This is reported by EastFruit.

Currently, Ukrainian producers offer quality apples at a price of 15 to 25 UAH per kilogram.

The main reason for the decrease in price was the simultaneous increase in supply and rather restrained demand for products.

Why are apples getting cheaper

The main part of the supply on the Ukrainian market is now autumn apples.

Such fruits are mainly not intended for long-term storage, so producers are trying to sell the harvested crop as soon as possible.

The increase in the volume of apples on the market against the background of low buyer activity is forcing gardeners to reduce selling prices.

As a result, quality apples have become cheaper by an average of 20% per week.

The difference is even more noticeable in annual terms. Apples of the new harvest are now being sold on average 44% cheaper than at the end of August 2025.

What will happen to prices next

The further situation will depend on the volumes of the new harvest and stocks of products in storage.

On the one hand, the reduction in the remnants of apples from the previous harvest may create the prerequisites for an increase in prices. On the other hand, the new harvest in 2026 may be larger than last year’s, which will restrain the increase in prices.

Most Ukrainian gardeners expect that wholesale prices for apples may decrease again in the period from January to May 2027.

The most common forecast among producers predicts a drop in wholesale prices of approximately 11–20%.

At the same time, prices for imported fruits, in particular bananas and oranges, will largely depend on the exchange rate, since their value is directly related to the hryvnia to the dollar exchange rate.
