Artificial intelligence in the future may significantly change the work of the public sector and reduce the number of officials in Ukraine. At the same time, digital technologies will not be able to completely replace people yet, since key decisions and control will remain with humans.
This was stated by the Acting Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Oleksandr Bornyakov in a comment to Noviny.LIVE.
According to the official, the state is gradually moving towards the concept of the so-called “agent state”, where a significant part of the services will be provided by special AI agents and chat services.
“AI will definitely reduce the number of civil servants. I cannot say by how much, but I see that in some areas it will be significant,” Bornyakov noted.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine explains that artificial intelligence will help automate a significant part of government services and routine processes. At the same time, a sharp reduction in personnel is not predicted in the near future.
Bornyakov also emphasized that the Ministry of Digital Affairs adheres to the principle of “a person is always in the chain”, that is, even under conditions of a high level of automation, the final decision and verification will remain with a person.
“You cannot completely entrust the solution of serious cases to artificial intelligence, because the technology is still developing,” he emphasized.
Earlier, Ukraine had already launched an AI service to search for missing animals, and the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated about the active growth of the role of artificial intelligence in modern warfare.
