MP Danylo Hetmantsev is being considered as one of the candidates for the position of Prosecutor General of Ukraine after the possible resignation of Ruslan Kravchenko.
The media reports on the discussion of Hetmantsev’s candidacy. He is currently a MP from the Servant of the People party and heads the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy. He has been working as the chairman of the committee since August 2019.
Information about the possible new head of the Prosecutor General’s Office appeared against the background of the resignation of the current Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also called on the Verkhovna Rada to immediately support Kravchenko’s dismissal.
It is expected that the Verkhovna Rada will consider the issue of the resignation of the Prosecutor General on September 15.
At the same time, there is no official decision on the appointment of Danylo Hetmantsev as Prosecutor General at this time. We are only talking about his candidacy, which, according to media reports, is being discussed as a possible replacement for Ruslan Kravchenko.
