People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is in custody, took part in a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy for the first time in a long time.
This was reported by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to him, Dubinsky, who still remains a member of the relevant parliamentary committee, joined the meeting remotely.
“For the first time in a long time (it seems that from the pre-trial detention center) a member of the committee – Dubinsky – joined the meeting of the tax committee,” Zheleznyak wrote.
At the same time, there is currently no official confirmation that the People’s Deputy participated in the meeting from the pre-trial detention center.
Let us remind you that Oleksandr Dubinsky is a defendant in criminal proceedings and is in custody. Earlier, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for him. According to the investigation, the deputy is accused, in particular, of spreading Russian narratives through social networks with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and hindering mobilization processes.
Subsequently, the court extended the term of detention, setting an alternative preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of more than 33 million hryvnias.
Despite being in custody, Dubinsky formally remains a People’s Deputy of Ukraine and a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
