The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, appealed to Ukrainians who remain in the temporarily occupied territories not to delay evacuation and to take advantage of any opportunity to leave.
He published the corresponding appeal on social networks.
According to Fedorov, Russian troops have long used the occupied cities, in particular Melitopol, Berdiansk, Enerhodar and Henichesk, as a deep rear and key logistics centers to supply their troops.
“The enemy has considered these territories safe for itself for too long. But today the situation is changing: the Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically striking the military infrastructure of the occupiers, command posts, ammunition depots, logistics hubs and supply routes,” the head of the region emphasized.
Fedorov emphasized that the Russian army is actually using the civilian population as cover, placing military facilities among residential buildings.
“The more the occupiers use the temporarily occupied territories for their military needs, the more risks arise for civilians. That is why I urge everyone who has the opportunity not to postpone the decision to leave,” he noted.
At the same time, the Zaporizhzhia OVA emphasized that despite the lack of a direct route to the territory controlled by Ukraine, evacuation mechanisms for people from the TOT continue to operate.
To receive assistance, citizens are recommended to contact specialized humanitarian organizations, state hotlines, and the Ombudsman’s office.
The Ukrainian authorities once again emphasize: the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories is becoming increasingly dangerous, and being near military facilities of the Russian army poses a direct threat to the lives of civilians.
