Ukraine has recorded a new wave of fraudulent attacks, during which attackers disguise fake sites as the official portal of the state service “Diya”. Citizens are trying to force them to download a fake application in order to gain access to their personal data.

This was reported by the Diya team.

According to the developers of the service, the fraudsters created a phishing site with a domain similar to the official Diya resource. Through it, users were offered to install a fake application outside the official App Store and Google Play stores.

The Diya team reported that the dangerous resource has already been blocked, but urged Ukrainians to be especially careful and follow basic digital security rules.

“The main rule of the digital world: do not follow dubious links and do not download files from unknown sites,” the service emphasized.

Ukrainians were also reminded that:

— the official Diya application is available exclusively through the App Store and Google Play;
— the only official portal of the service is Diya.

Separately, citizens were recommended to increase their digital literacy and undergo training in cyber hygiene on the Diya.Education platform, which contains instructions and practical advice on protecting personal data online.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs emphasizes that scammers are constantly inventing new ways to steal data, so critical thinking and caution remain the best protection for users.
