The ex-wife of former Minister of Energy and Justice Herman Galushchenko, Olga Bogdanova, lived with her children in a 220-square-meter apartment in Geneva in 2025. According to the journalistic investigation “Schemes”, the rent for the apartment cost more than 85 thousand Swiss francs per year – about 4.5 million UAH, or about $9 thousand per month.
The apartment is located on the Gustave-Adore embankment in the Ai-Vive district near Lake Geneva. The house was built at the beginning of the last century and is included in the list of architectural heritage of Geneva.
Bogdanova confirmed living in the apartment
As noted in the material, Olga Bogdanova confirmed the fact of using the apartment during the verification of Herman Galushchenko’s declaration by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
She informed the NACP that during 2025 she lived in the apartment with her children on the basis of a rental agreement. At the same time, she did not provide the agency with a copy of the agreement itself.
In his explanations to the NACP, German Galushchenko claimed that he had divorced his wife back in 2022 and did not know about the rental of this housing.
According to him, only in 2026, from the materials of the criminal proceedings, he learned about the possible use of an apartment in Switzerland by his children. At the same time, journalists draw attention to the fact that in the declaration for 2023, Galushchenko indicated a newborn son, whose documents were issued in Switzerland.
Journalists suggest that the family could have lived there longer
The authors of the investigation also established that Olga Bogdanova left reviews on Google maps in the area of \u200b\u200bGustave-Adore embankment back in 2023-2024.
On this basis, journalists suggest that the family could have used housing in Geneva for longer than the period indicated in the materials of the NACP inspection.
According to the calculations of “Schemes”, if we conditionally apply the cost of rent for 2025 to the period from 2023 to 2026, the total housing costs could amount to about UAH 20 million. At the same time, this is just an estimate by journalists, and not a confirmed amount of actual expenses for the entire period.
Bogdanova’s business is located nearby
The journalists also drew attention to the fact that not far from the rented apartment is the architectural bureau Bogdanova Architects, registered by Olga Bogdanova in Geneva in 2023.
The investigation separately analyzed the individuals who managed Bogdanova’s business.
According to “Schemes”, since February 2023, the executive director has been Christine Breitler, the head of the Swiss office of Dixcart, which works in the field of company formation, private equity management and trusts.
Journalists also reported on the connections of the following managers with offshore structures mentioned in the ICIJ Paradise Papers leaks, as well as with the company Comatrans SA. The latter, according to the investigation, previously appeared in the NABU case regarding the possible overestimation of the cost of road repairs in Odessa and the withdrawal of funds abroad by officials of the Odessa City Council.
The case of Herman Galushchenko
The material separately recalls the criminal proceedings against Herman Galushchenko himself.
According to the source, NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors incriminate the former government official with participation in a criminal organization and money laundering within the framework of criminal proceedings known as the “Midas” case.
On February 17, 2026, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Galushchenko in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail.
On June 26, the full amount of bail was posted for him, the total amount of which exceeded UAH 100 million. According to the source, the last 45 million UAH were transferred to the court account by two private companies.
Information about the apartment rental and the possible period of residence of the family in Geneva is based on the data of a journalistic investigation and materials of the NACP inspection. The allegations of the prosecution in the criminal proceedings against Herman Galushchenko must be verified by the court, and his guilt can be established only by a guilty verdict that has entered into legal force.
