In Ukraine, 210 hectares of agricultural land were demined in July

In July, within the framework of the budget program “Humanitarian Demining”, mine action operators cleared 210 hectares of agricultural land. The average cost of demining was 62.9 thousand UAH per hectare.

This was reported by the Ministry of Economy and Environment.

More than 16 thousand hectares have already been returned to use

Currently, work continues under 43 contracts on agricultural plots with a total area of ​​​​about 11.7 thousand hectares.

Another 100 contracts have already been executed. Thanks to this, 16,410 hectares of land were returned to safe use. The total cost of the work exceeded 966.2 million UAH.

In July, the Humanitarian Demining Center also signed 14 new contracts for the clearance of more than 1.4 thousand hectares of agricultural land. The expected cost of these works is about 170 million UAH.

State and private lands are being demined

Within the framework of the concluded agreements, the Humanitarian Demining Center has begun clearing the lands of the State Land Bank.

Three plots with a total area of ​​almost 1.3 thousand hectares are located in the Kharkiv region. Another plot with an area of ​​606 hectares will be demined in the Mykolaiv region.

In addition, contracts have been concluded for the clearance of lands owned or leased by private households. The area of ​​such plots ranges from 1.7 to over 73 hectares.

The Humanitarian Demining budget program is financed within the framework of the implementation of the Ukraine Facility Plan, an instrument of financial support to Ukraine by the European Union.
