In Ukraine, student scholarships are planned to be increased from September 1: how much will be paid

Starting from September 1, Ukraine plans to significantly increase the amount of state scholarships for students of higher, pre-university and vocational education institutions. This was reported in the Verkhovna Rada.

What will be the new amounts of scholarships

For students of higher education institutions, the minimum academic scholarship will increase to UAH 4,000, and the increased one – to UAH 5,820.

Sectoral scholarships will also increase – their increased amount will be UAH 7,420. The presidential scholarship for the best students will increase to UAH 20,000.

For students of pre-university vocational education institutions, an increase in payments is also provided. The minimum academic scholarship in colleges will be UAH 3,020, and the increased one – UAH 4,394.

Support for students from TOT and frontline territories

The state continues to support young people from temporarily occupied and frontline territories. For such applicants, simplified admission conditions apply through educational centers – without taking the NMT, based on the results of an interview or entrance exams.

In addition, they are provided with:

a separate quota for budget places;
assistance with processing Ukrainian documents;
psychological support;
preferential accommodation in dormitories;
a one-time grant of UAH 50,000 from international partners – the UN and UNICEF.
Grants for contract workers

A separate state grant program continues to operate for students entering the contract form of study.

Applicants who have received 150 points or more in two NMT subjects can apply for a grant of UAH 17,000. For a result of 170 points or more in two subjects, a grant of UAH 25,000 is provided.

For students entering higher education institutions in front-line regions, the amount of the state grant is automatically increased by 50%.
