The CCC explained who is entitled to additional leave and whether monetary support is preserved

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who have the status of a participant in hostilities may receive additional paid leave each year. This was reported by the Kyiv Regional CCC and the Joint Service.

As noted by the CCC, servicemen with the status of a UBD are entitled to additional leave lasting 14 calendar days each year.

In some cases, the legislation provides for the possibility of providing up to 21 calendar days of such leave.

Is monetary support paid

While on additional leave, a serviceman’s monetary and social security are fully preserved.

How is leave granted during martial law

In conditions of martial law, the final decision on granting additional leave is made by the unit commander.

In this case, the following are taken into account:

combat situation;

needs of the unit;

the possibility of temporarily releasing a serviceman from performing combat missions.
What other leave is available to military personnel

In addition to additional leave for combatants, military personnel can receive:

family leave;
educational leave;
other types of leave provided for by law.

The CCC emphasizes that the right to additional leave for military personnel with UBD status is guaranteed by law, however, the specific terms of its provision are determined taking into account the situation in the unit and the decisions of the command.
