In January-March 2026, Ukrainians paid UAH 43.5 billion in military tax to the state budget, which is UAH 9.4 billion more than in the same period last year.

This was reported by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

Significant growth in revenues

According to the tax service, revenues increased by 27.5% compared to the first quarter of 2025, when UAH 34.1 billion was received by the budget.

Such an increase indicates a stable budget replenishment under martial law and an increase in the level of tax discipline.

Leading regions in terms of payment

The largest volumes of military tax were provided by:

— Kyiv — UAH 14.2 billion;

— Dnipropetrovsk region — UAH 4.6 billion;

— Lviv region — UAH 3.4 billion;

— Kharkiv region — UAH 2.8 billion.

Further effect of military levy

Previously, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported draft law No. 15110, which provides for the extension of the military levy for three years after the end of martial law.

It is expected that this instrument will continue to play an important role in financing the state’s defense needs.
