People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharenko was officially expelled from the parliamentary faction “European Solidarity”. The corresponding decision was announced on October 14, 2026 during a session of the Verkhovna Rada. Previously, disagreements arose between the deputy and his colleagues regarding possible ways to end the war and negotiations with Russia.
This was reported by the people’s deputy.
Honcharenko expelled from the parliamentary faction
On October 14, the Verkhovna Rada officially announced the expulsion of Oleksiy Honcharenko from the faction “European Solidarity”.
The people’s deputy confirmed this information on his social networks and thanked his colleagues for their joint work.
“I thank my colleagues for 12 years of work. Together we were able to achieve great changes in Ukraine and will continue to work for Ukraine. We keep up the good work!” – wrote Honcharenko.
Why was Honcharenko expelled from the European Solidarity?
The faction made the decision to expel the deputy on October 5, 2026.
As previously reported, the reason was differences in views on possible ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian war and the future security system of Ukraine.
In particular, on October 2, Oleksiy Honcharenko publicly proposed starting negotiations with Russia on stopping strikes on critical infrastructure facilities, hospitals, schools, ports and residential buildings.
In the future, according to his proposal, the parties could move on to discussing more complex issues, in particular the situation in Donbas and the possible neutral status of Ukraine.
This position caused political disagreements with representatives of the faction.
What Honcharenko said after the expulsion
Previously, the MP reported that he did not plan to abandon his position on the need to find ways to end the war.
According to Honcharenko, he will continue to advocate for diplomatic mechanisms for settlement and achieving peace.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously emphasized the inadmissibility of concessions by Russia that could jeopardize the independence and security of the state.
Thus, the issue of the conditions for a possible end to the war has become one of the key subjects of political disagreements between Honcharenko and his former colleagues in the faction.
Will Honcharenko lose his deputy mandate
Expulsion from the parliamentary faction in itself does not mean the automatic termination of the powers of a people’s deputy.
The issue of preserving the deputy mandate is regulated by the Constitution of Ukraine and depends on the legal circumstances of acquiring deputy powers.
Currently, it is reported that Oleksiy Honcharenko was expelled from the European Solidarity faction, and not about the termination of his deputy powers.
