Over 800 new sole proprietorships are registered in Ukraine every day: how many entrepreneurs are already working?

The number of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine continues to grow. Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainians have registered almost 195 thousand new individual entrepreneurs, and the total number of entrepreneurs in the country is already about 2.24 million.

According to Opendatabot, the rate of new business registration is increasing during the year. If in January Ukrainians opened 21.5 thousand individual entrepreneurs, then in August this figure reached a record 26.6 thousand.

More than 800 new entrepreneurs every day

On average, about 802 new individual entrepreneurs are registered in Ukraine every day. The most active day for opening your own business was April 1 – 2374 entrepreneurs were registered in just one day.

In total, as of the beginning of September, about 2.24 million individual entrepreneurs work in Ukraine.

Thus, despite the full-scale war and economic challenges, Ukrainians continue to actively open their own businesses, and August became one of the most active months of 2026 in terms of the number of new registrations.
