Participants in hostilities can receive a 75% discount on utility services: how to apply for the benefit

Participants in hostilities in Ukraine are entitled to a state benefit in the form of a 75 percent discount on housing and communal services. However, not everyone who has the legal right to this benefit takes advantage of this opportunity.

The benefit is provided for by current legislation and applies to a number of basic utilities.

In particular, the discount applies to the payment of heating, electricity, gas supply, water supply and sewage, housing maintenance, as well as other housing and communal services.

There are several ways to apply for such a benefit. The most convenient option is through the electronic portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or the mobile application of the Pension Fund.

You can also submit documents in person at the Pension Fund service center or through the Center for Administrative Services.

After applying for the benefit, the mechanism works on the compensation principle: the recipient independently pays the utility bills, after which the Pension Fund of Ukraine compensates the amount specified by law – by transferring funds to a bank account or through Ukrposhta.

Experts emphasize that the right to benefits can only be exercised after official registration in accordance with the established procedure. Therefore, veterans are advised not to delay submitting documents in order to receive proper state support in a timely manner.
