Pensioners can receive almost UAH 1,300 in additional payments each month: who is eligible?

In September 2026, some Ukrainian pensioners may receive an additional 1,297.50 hryvnias per month. The allowance is provided for certain categories of citizens who support disabled family members. The Pension Fund explained who will receive the additional funds.

The allowance is not accrued to all pensioners. To receive it, it is necessary to meet the established requirements.

Who can receive almost 1,300 hryvnias

The right to a monthly allowance is granted to non-working pensioners who receive:

a long-service pension;

a disability pension.

In this case, a mandatory condition is the presence of disabled family members in the pensioner’s care.

It is under such circumstances that an additional allowance may be established to the basic pension payment.

How much will be paid

The amount of the allowance is tied to the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work.

The allowance is 50% of this subsistence minimum.

In 2026, it is 2,595 hryvnias, so the amount of the monthly supplement is:

2,595 hryvnias × 50% = 1,297.50 hryvnias.

Thus, a pensioner who meets the established criteria can additionally receive almost 1.3 thousand hryvnias per month.

How the allowance is paid

The Pension Fund explains that citizens who are assigned such an allowance receive funds simultaneously with the basic pension.

That is, a separate payment date for these 1,297.50 hryvnias is not set – the amount is added to the monthly pension payment.

It is important that we are not talking about a one-time benefit in September, but about a monthly allowance that is paid if there is a right to it.

Who should not expect an automatic supplement

The mere fact of receiving a pension does not entitle you to an additional 1,297.50 hryvnias.

A pensioner must simultaneously meet the prescribed conditions: be unemployed, receive an appropriate type of pension, and have a dependent family member who is unable to work.

Therefore, before applying for a supplement, it is worth checking whether the person meets all the necessary criteria.
