MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has reported possible cases of large-scale fraud and tax evasion by individuals who position themselves as “political magicians” and actively work in the public sphere.
These are Maria Tykha (Mariya Arefieva) and Bohdan Orishchenko, known under the pseudonym Veliar. According to the MP, his team conducted an investigation, during which numerous client testimonies were collected about large sums of money paid for “rituals”, “removal of curses”, “paternity cleansing” and other esoteric services.
According to published data, one of the clients allegedly took out a loan of 160 thousand hryvnias for the so-called “paternity cleansing”, another transferred about 4 thousand dollars to search for a missing relative. There is also evidence of payment of more than 1,100 euros for the “healing” of a seriously ill child.
According to Zheleznyak, in many cases, after receiving the money, the performers stopped communicating or offered to repeat the rituals without results.
Separately, the deputy drew attention to the possible discrepancy between the official incomes of the participants and the actual amounts of funds received, some of which, according to him, could have been outside the official reporting.
In this regard, all the collected materials are planned to be transferred to the National Police of Ukraine and the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine for legal assessment.
Zheleznyak emphasized that if the facts are confirmed, this is not about “magic”, but about potential criminal offenses – in particular, fraud and financial fraud.
