ROZETKA’s losses after the Russian attack reached billions of hryvnias: the company spoke about the consequences

After the Russian attack that destroyed one of the largest automated logistics complexes ROZETKA in Brovary, the company’s losses are already estimated at several billion hryvnias. Despite this, the marketplace continues to operate, restructuring logistics and maintaining service continuity.

This was reported on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel by ROZETKA co-founder Vladislav Chechotkin.

Losses are estimated at billions of hryvnias

According to Chechotkin, the final amount of losses is still being determined, but it is already clear that we are talking about multi-billion losses.

“If we talk about the situation with ROZETKA, these are losses of billions of hryvnias, not one, not two – more. How much more precisely, we cannot calculate yet. These are big losses for us,” the company’s co-founder noted.

He also drew attention to the fact that Epicenter also suffered serious losses, and in general, the Russian attacks have dealt a tangible blow to the Ukrainian economy.

The company continues to operate

Despite the destruction of a large logistics center, ROZETKA did not stop its activities. As Chechotkin explained, this was made possible thanks to its own IT infrastructure, an extensive delivery network, and cooperation with over 50,000 small and medium-sized businesses.

The company is currently quickly restructuring its logistics processes and changing delivery routes to minimize the consequences of the attack for customers.

At the same time, restoring the destroyed complex will require significant time and investment, as it involves not only a building, but also a complex automated system capable of processing over 100,000 orders per day.

Warehouse Decentralization and State Support

Chechotkin called the decentralization of warehouse capacity one of the key ways to reduce risks in the future. However, the implementation of such an approach is complicated by the shortage of suitable premises, the reluctance of owners to lease warehouses to large companies due to the risk of repeated attacks, and the significant increase in the cost of logistics.

In addition, after the Russian strike, the government has already held consultations with business representatives on possible support mechanisms.

According to the co-founder of ROZETKA, among the possible solutions being considered are:

improving the mechanism for insurance of war risks;
compensation for part of the insurance payments;
tax benefits or tax holidays for affected enterprises;
preferential lending for the restoration of destroyed facilities.

At the same time, no specific decisions on state support for business have yet been made.

As a reminder, the Russian strike destroyed ROZETKA’s largest logistics warehouse in Brovary. During the previous attack on the facility, company employee Volodymyr Melnychenko was killed, and seven more employees were hospitalized.
