Russia attacked DTEK Naftogaz facility in Poltava region: gas production stopped

Russian forces have again attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The DTEK Naftogaz facility in Poltava region was hit, forcing it to shut down.

Gas production facility halts operations

According to DTEK, the Russian attack was aimed at the company’s energy infrastructure. After the strike, the operation of the gas production facility in Poltava region was halted.

Experts are currently assessing the extent of the damage and working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

In Poltava region, a Russian drone has been confirmed to have hit the territory of one of the industrial enterprises in the Myrhorod district. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Russia has intensified attacks on oil and gas infrastructure

In recent days, Russian troops have been systematically attacking Ukrainian facilities related to the production and supply of energy resources.

In particular, on August 9, attacks on Naftogaz Group facilities were reported. Russia attacked Ukrnafta’s production assets and drilling platform, as a result of which some of the equipment was disabled, and the work of one of the assets had to be stopped.

Also, on August 7 and 8, seven Ukrnafta gas stations in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Mykolaiv regions were hit by Russian strikes.

Thus, the attack on the DTEK Naftogaz facility in Poltava region was another blow from the Russian Federation to Ukrainian energy and oil and gas infrastructure.
