Russia may mobilize 300,000 troops in the fall: they could be thrown into the decisive battle for Donetsk region

Russia is approaching a possible new wave of mobilization, within which the army could recruit about 300 thousand people. Ukrainian intelligence suggests that the Kremlin may announce mobilization after the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, scheduled for September 18-20.

The Russian command may direct new forces to the Donetsk region, where the situation remains extremely difficult. In particular, Russian troops are located approximately 10 kilometers from Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

In the Donetsk region, heavy fighting is being prepared

Against the threat of a new Russian offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are changing the defense management system of the eastern front. Two newly created groups of troops will be responsible for the defense of the Donetsk region.

One of them, under the leadership of the commander of the Third Army Corps, Andriy Biletsky, will be responsible for the Lyman direction and the Kramatorsk-Konstantynivka agglomeration. The second, led by the commander of the First Corps of the Azov National Guard, Denis Prokopenko, will be responsible for Dobropillya and sections of the front southwest of the city.

One of the main goals of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapaty, is called stopping the Russian offensive and more rational distribution of resources on the front.

The situation near Kostyantynivka, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk remains particularly difficult. One of the sources in the military suggested that one of the main battles of this and next years could unfold in the Donetsk region.

The Russian Federation may receive hundreds of thousands of new soldiers

A possible mobilization can significantly increase the number of personnel that Russia can use to continue offensive operations.

According to the source, this is about 300 thousand new servicemen, whom the Russian Federation is probably preparing to recruit in the fall.

Against this background, the Ukrainian command is carrying out personnel and structural changes, trying to strengthen the defense of the Donetsk region before the possible arrival of new Russian forces to the front.
