Schools must update data on teachers subject to military service by July 3: MES explained how the automatic extension of the deferment will work

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has called on heads of secondary education institutions to urgently update information about teachers liable for military service in the AICOM system. This is necessary for the automatic extension of the deferment from mobilization through the electronic service Reserve+.

As the ministry emphasized, the data must be updated by July 3, 2026.

The department explains: for the automatic deferment confirmation mechanism to work correctly, the information in the system must be complete, up-to-date and reliable. In the event of the absence or incorrect data, automatic extension will be impossible.

What data needs to be checked

Heads of schools must check and, if necessary, update:

— registration number of the employee’s taxpayer card;

— information about the main place of work;

— employee position;

— actual volume of work (share of the rate).

The Ministry of Education and Science separately emphasized that only those pedagogical employees for whom the educational institution is the main place of work and who work at a rate of at least 0.75 have the right to deferral.

Why is this needed

The completeness of the entered data, as well as information about the institution’s accounting form, are necessary for further comparison with the registers of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

After updating the information, heads of institutions should check the report “Employees of the ZZSO”, in particular the column “Submitted for deferral”.

It is specified that the procedure “Confirmation of the conditions for deferral of a pedagogical employee” is available exclusively in the office of the head of the educational institution or supporting institution.

When will the new mechanism start working

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the possibility of registering and confirming deferral through the “Reserve +” service based on updated data is planned to be launched from August 1, 2026.

If, after entering information into the system, the data is not displayed in the service, teachers are recommended to personally contact the territorial recruitment and social support center or the Administrative Services Center to clarify the information.

The Ministry of Education and Science emphasizes that timely data updates are critically important for the smooth processing of legal deferrals for teaching staff.
