In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, a regular traffic conflict escalated into a shooting — a man was injured as a result of the incident. The National Police of Ukraine was informed about the incident.
According to law enforcement officers, the incident occurred on Kamyanska Street. A dispute arose between a driver and a pedestrian over a violation of traffic rules — the man was crossing the road in an unspecified place. After a verbal remark, the conflict quickly escalated.
During the argument, the driver took out a device for shooting rubber bullets and opened fire on his opponent. The victim was injured in the leg and back. Law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene, detained the attacker and seized the weapon.
The suspect has already been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism with the use of a previously prepared object to inflict bodily harm. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.
The police emphasize that such cases are especially dangerous in the context of the growing number of incidents involving the use of weapons in public places. In recent days alone, several high-profile events have been recorded in the capital, ranging from the appearance of armed individuals in residential areas to shootings with tragic consequences.
Law enforcement officers urge citizens to refrain from aggression and resolve conflicts exclusively within the legal framework.
