The 2027 Budget provided for UAH 10 billion for medical check-ups for Ukrainians aged 40 and over

The draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2027 has allocated UAH 10 billion for a health screening program for citizens aged 40 and over. Another UAH 1.63 billion is planned to be allocated for specialized medical services for veterans.

UAH 10 billion for health screening of Ukrainians 40+

A separate budget program worth UAH 10 billion is planned to be introduced for health screening of the population aged 40 and over with an increased risk of developing diseases.

The main goal of the program is the early detection of diseases and prevention of their development among middle-aged and older people.

What assistance is planned for veterans

The draft state budget also includes UAH 1.633 billion for certain specialized medical services for persons who defend or defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for liquidators of the Chernobyl accident.

The funds, in particular, are planned to be used for:

collection, cryopreservation and storage of reproductive cells;
dental care;
dentures for veterans and combatants.
How much is planned to be spent on medicine in total

Total healthcare expenditures in the draft Budget-2027, taking into account inter-budgetary transfers, amount to UAH 292.5 billion. Of these, UAH 225 billion is provided for the state health care guarantee program.

UAH 20.8 billion is planned to be allocated for centralized procurement of medicines and medical devices. This includes, in particular, drugs and means for the treatment of oncological, cardiovascular and orphan diseases, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, as well as the purchase of endoprostheses and hearing aids.

Another UAH 13.26 billion is earmarked for investment projects in the healthcare sector – the restoration and modernization of medical institutions, children’s and oncology hospitals, as well as the creation of modern rehabilitation centers.
