An increase in the average salary was recorded in Kyiv. According to the Main Statistics Department, in February 2026 it amounted to 45,651 UAH, which is 4.1% more than in the previous month.
The highest incomes are traditionally retained in the financial sector – employees in the finance and insurance sector receive an average of over 92 thousand UAH. Significant salaries are also recorded in the information technology and telecommunications sector (over 65 thousand UAH), as well as in public administration and defense – about 71 thousand UAH.
At the same time, in the real sector of the economy, the indicators remain more moderate. In industry, the average salary fluctuates within 47–48 thousand UAH, in trade – over 43 thousand UAH. The lowest incomes are traditionally observed in socially important areas: education (about 24 thousand UAH), medicine and social assistance – a little more than 21 thousand UAH.
In general, there are more than 1 million full-time employees in the capital, which indicates a stable labor market. At the same time, income growth is accompanied by an increase in expenses – in particular, housing rent in Kyiv also shows a tendency to increase in price, which partially offsets the positive effect of increasing salaries.
Thus, despite the increase in average indicators, the difference in incomes between industries remains significant, and the purchasing power of the population depends not only on the level of salaries, but also on the general economic situation.
