The average salary in Ukraine has increased to a record 32.8 thousand UAH: who earns the most

The average salary in Ukraine in June 2026 reached a new historical maximum – 32,783 UAH. It increased by 5.9% per month, and by 25.4% per year, which was the highest rate of increase in the last 15 months.

This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Salaries are growing faster than inflation

In May, the average salary of full-time employees was 30,961 UAH, while in June the figure increased by almost 1.8 thousand UAH – to 32,783 UAH.

Taking into account inflation, the real growth in the income of Ukrainians is estimated at approximately 17%, which is the best result since the end of 2024. In dollar terms, the average salary reached about 733 US dollars.

Kyiv maintains leadership

The highest level of wages is traditionally recorded in the capital.

The average salary in Kyiv is UAH 48,393, which is almost UAH 16,000 higher than the national average.

The regions with the highest salaries also include:

Luhansk region — UAH 38,143;

Kyiv region — UAH 33,849.

In contrast, the lowest average salaries were recorded in:

Chernivtsi region — UAH 24,472;

Kirovohrad region — UAH 23,882.

Thus, the difference between the highest average salary in the capital and the lowest in the regions exceeds UAH 24.5 thousand, which indicates significant income inequality across the country.

IT earns the most

The highest salaries, as before, are received by employees of the information and telecommunications sector.

In June, the average salary in this sector was UAH 77,931, which is more than twice the average in Ukraine.

Healthcare and social assistance workers receive the least — an average of UAH 22,274 per month.

In which sectors are salaries growing the fastest

Salaries increased the most dynamically during the year in the manufacturing and scientific sectors.

The leader was the production of motor vehicles, trailers and other transport, where the average salary increased by 49%.

A significant increase was also recorded in:

scientific research and development — 40.3%;

education — 34.5%;

electrical equipment production — 30.1%.

Salary debts continue to grow

Despite the record growth in average salaries, the problem of unpaid funds remains relevant.

According to the State Statistics Service, as of July 1, 2026, the total amount of wage arrears amounted to UAH 3.8 billion.

Compared to the same period last year, debts increased by another 10.4%, which indicates that not all employees receive their earnings on time, despite the positive dynamics of average salaries.

Experts note that the current statistics demonstrate two trends at the same time: on the one hand, the Ukrainian labor market is gradually recovering, and employers are increasing the level of wages, especially in high-tech and manufacturing industries. On the other hand, the problem of regional inequality and wage arrears remains one of the key challenges for the country’s economy.
