Ukraine and Azerbaijan are deepening strategic partnership
In recent years, Ukraine and Azerbaijan have been actively developing strategic partnership, in particular in the fields of security, defense, economy and energy.
An important stage in bilateral relations was the official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Azerbaijan in April 2026, during which negotiations were held with President Ilham Aliyev.
In addition, Ukraine has repeatedly stated its readiness to consider Azerbaijan as a platform for possible peace negotiations mediated by Baku.
It was also previously announced that practical cooperation between Ukraine, Turkey and Azerbaijan in the field of defense has begun. According to the Ukrainian side, the implementation of joint projects is proceeding at a rapid pace.
It is expected that during the current visit the parties will discuss further strengthening of bilateral cooperation and topical issues of regional security.
