The Cabinet of Ministers approved new rules for railway operations during air threats

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new procedure for operating railway transport during an air threat. The rules determine the actions of railway workers and passengers depending on the level of danger – yellow or red.

What will happen during a yellow threat level

During a yellow level, trains will continue to operate. At stations, stations and platforms, the reception and departure of trains, boarding and disembarking of passengers and other necessary technological operations will be allowed.

Passengers will be able to decide for themselves whether to stay at the station or station. At the same time, they will be informed about the level of danger and the location of the nearest shelters.

What will change during a red level

In the event of a red threat level, boarding and disembarking of passengers will be suspended. People at stations and stations, as well as railway employees, will be directed to the nearest shelters.

At the same time, trains already on the road will not be automatically stopped. Decisions on the further movement of each flight will be made separately, taking into account the operational security situation.

If necessary, the movement of individual trains may be limited or temporarily suspended.

Air threats will be monitored around the clock

Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring groups will monitor the security situation around the clock. In the event of detection of air targets that may pose a threat to passengers or employees, railway workers will be promptly warned.

The company also plans to disperse passenger flows and rolling stock to avoid large crowds of people and trains.

Passengers will be informed about the level of threat and possible changes in railway operations via loudspeakers, information boards, the official website and the Ukrzaliznytsia application.

Employees who directly work with trains will be additionally provided with personal protective equipment – protective vests and helmets.

The new rules for the operation of railway transport will be in effect throughout the entire period of martial law.
