The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the conditions of the state affordable housing lending program “eOsel” by providing new benefits for veterans and families of fallen military servicemen. From now on, these categories of citizens will be able to issue a mortgage at a preferential rate of 3% per annum.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine was notified of the relevant changes to Government Resolution No. 856 of August 2, 2022.
Veterans, veterans, war participants, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, as well as family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine received the right to new lending conditions. Previously, this category had standard program conditions: 7% per annum for the first ten years and 10% starting from the eleventh year.
According to the new rules, the maximum credit term is up to 20 years. For young borrowers under the age of 25, the minimum down payment will be 10% of the housing cost, for people over 26 years old – 20%.
It will be possible to apply for participation in the program a month after the official publication of the resolution. Registration will take place in electronic format through Diya or through the Unified State Portal of Electronic Services.
The Ministry emphasizes: this is another step towards strengthening the social protection of veterans and their families, as well as expanding access to their own housing for those who gave their health and life for Ukraine.
