The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a decision that allows for the completion of amendments to the state budget and opens the way to attracting additional funding from the European Union for the needs of the security and defense sector.

This involves the elimination of legislative restrictions that could prevent the timely receipt of international assistance. Thanks to this, the state will be able to promptly direct additional resources to pay cash benefits to military personnel, as well as to purchase, modernize and repair weapons, military equipment and ammunition.

The parliament emphasizes that the adopted decision is of critical importance for the continuous financing of the defense sector in the conditions of the active phase of the war and preparation for new challenges at the front.

Mykhailo Fedorov noted that today Ukraine is actively increasing long-range capabilities, is developing unmanned systems on a large scale and is carrying out one of the largest transformations of the Defense Forces in the entire period of independence.

According to him, it is extremely important to maintain this pace and not allow any pauses in financing the army, especially in a critical period for the country. The Minister also thanked the people’s deputies for their prompt consideration and support of the decision.
