In Ukraine, on the morning of August 20, the currency market is showing mixed dynamics. The dollar in a number of banks has fallen in price by 5–20 kopecks, while the euro, on the contrary, has increased in price by up to 30 kopecks.

We tell you how much the dollar and euro are worth today in exchangers and popular Ukrainian banks and where it is more profitable to buy currency.

Dollar and euro exchange rates in exchangers

The average dollar exchange rate in non-bank exchange offices as of the morning of August 20 is UAH 44.77 when buying and UAH 44.85 when selling.

Euro exchangers are buying at UAH 51.90 on average and selling at UAH 52.15.

Thus, for those who plan to buy cash European currency, the average offers of exchangers currently look more profitable than the average bank rate.

What is happening with the rates in banks

The average dollar buying rate by Ukrainian banks is 44.51 UAH, and selling rate is 44.99 UAH.

For the euro, the average rates are 51.58 UAH when buying and 52.25 UAH when selling.

At the same time, the rates differ significantly depending on the bank and the method of purchasing the currency – through a cash register, card or mobile application.

PrivatBank sells the dollar at cash registers at 44.85 UAH, which is 5 kopecks less compared to the previous indicators. The card rate is 44.84 UAH. The euro can be purchased at branches at 52.40 UAH, and the card rate is 52.35 UAH.

At Oschadbank, the dollar in the mobile application costs 44.90 UAH, while the card rate is 45.10 UAH. The euro is offered at UAH 52.30 in the application and UAH 52.50 for card transactions.

At FUIB, the dollar is sold at UAH 45.10 at the cash desk, while the commercial rate is UAH 44.90. Euros can be purchased at branches for UAH 52.30.

At Monobank, the dollar selling rate is UAH 44.83, and the euro is UAH 52.35.

How much will it cost to buy 1,000 dollars

The difference of even a few kopecks becomes more noticeable when buying a significant amount of currency.

At the given rates, to buy 1,000 dollars you will need:

Monobank — UAH 44,830;
exchangers — about UAH 44,850;
PrivatBank at the cash desk — UAH 44,850;
Oschadbank in the application — UAH 44,900;
FUIB at the commercial rate — 44,900 UAH, at the cash desk — 45,100 UAH.

Thus, among the above offers, the lowest dollar price is 44.83 UAH. At the same time, the difference between several of the most profitable options remains insignificant.

Dollar down, euro up

The main trend of the foreign exchange market on August 20 was a moderate depreciation of the American currency against the background of a simultaneous appreciation of the euro.

For buyers, it is important to consider not only the name of the bank or exchanger, but also the specific channel of the transaction. The rate at the cash desk, mobile application and when paying by card may differ by tens of kopecks, which when buying large amounts already gives a tangible difference.
