With the participation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a solemn oath-taking ceremony was held by judges who were appointed to their positions for the first time. In total, 22 newly appointed servants of Themis took the oath.

The judicial corps was replenished with representatives of various jurisdictions: three judges of local general courts, two – local economic courts, five – courts of appeal, eight – economic courts of appeal and four – administrative courts of appeal. The newly appointed judges represent different regions of Ukraine, which will contribute to strengthening the human resources potential of the judicial system throughout the country.

The Head of State congratulated the judges on the beginning of their professional journey and emphasized the importance of their mission – to provide justice in a timely, impartial and respectful manner. According to the President, society needs a sense of justice precisely at the moment when it is most needed.

Taking the oath is a key stage in the acquisition of the powers of a judge. Only after this, as well as after being enrolled in the court staff and undergoing appropriate training, does the judge receive the right to administer justice.

The replenishment of the judicial corps is considered an important step in strengthening the institutional capacity of the judiciary and increasing citizens’ trust in justice.
