The Ministry of Defense has a new deputy for digitalization: what is known about Oleksiy Reva

Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Reva has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization. In his new position, he will be responsible for the development of digital systems and services for the Defense Forces and the implementation of technologies in the army.

The personnel decision was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

What Reva will be responsible for

One of the main areas of work of the new deputy will be the development of digital products that should simplify processes in the army and provide servicemen with prompt access to the necessary information.

A separate task is not only to develop various digital solutions, but also to unite them into a single ecosystem. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that digital tools should reduce the time for decision-making and increase the efficiency of the Defense Forces.

Among the priority areas of digitalization in the department, the further development of the applications “Army +”, “Reserve +” and the DELTA combat system was named.

Worked on “Army+” and the “Impulse” system

Oleksiy Reva already has experience working on digital projects for the Ukrainian military. He participated in the creation of the “Army+” application and the digital military personnel accounting system “Impulse”, and also headed the project teams that worked on these solutions.

Reva graduated from the Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Institute and was engaged in scientific activities.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the territorial center of recruitment and social support in Poltava together with his twin brother Igor.

Later, the brothers joined the 47th separate mechanized brigade and underwent training in Germany. After that, they served in the Zaporizhia direction, where they were engaged in the digitalization of personnel management processes in the military unit.

Served in the GUR and worked in military education

Later, Oleksiy Reva worked on the development of “Army+” and “Reserve+” in the Ministry of Defense, and also served in the Main Intelligence Directorate. He holds the military rank of Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Reva also worked in the field of military education – he was the head of the Department of Military Training of the National University “Kyiv Aviation Institute”.

Thus, in his new position, one of the key areas of his work will be the further digital transformation of the Defense Forces and the integration of military digital products into a common system.
