The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has contracted 99.5% of the necessary winter clothing and equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service for the 2026–2027 season. Some of the items have already been fully delivered to the military.
The procurement process began at the end of 2025. Early planning allowed tenders to be held for the main items and supplies to be organized before the start of the cold season.
Currently, winter supplies are arriving according to the established schedules, and some items have already been fully shipped and are ready for issuance to military personnel.
Over 611 million UAH saved on procurement
All purchases of winter supplies were carried out through tender procedures. According to the Ministry of Defense, this resulted in savings of over 611 million UAH.
Deputy Minister of Defense Mstyslav Banik noted that the main task is to ensure the timely receipt of high-quality equipment for the military at a reasonable price.
What the military will receive for the winter
24 items of winter clothing and equipment are being purchased for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and another 8 for the State Special Transport Service.
The winter kit includes:
special winter and camouflage suits;
boots with high berets;
windproof and waterproof jackets and trousers;
winter hats;
scarves-pipes;
gloves;
underwear for cold weather.
The list and amount of necessary property can be further adjusted depending on the current needs of military units.
Separate equipment for female servicemen has been provided
Part of the winter equipment is designed specifically for women who are doing military service.
When creating such items, the peculiarities of female anthropometry were taken into account – the clothing design and size grid were adapted accordingly.
Thus, on the eve of the cold season, the Ministry of Defense already has contracts for almost the entire specified volume of winter supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Security Service of Ukraine.
