The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is working on launching a special “demobilization calculator” that will allow servicemen to independently determine approximately when they can be discharged from service.

This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to the official, the process of partial discharge of military personnel may start in late autumn. First of all, this will apply to those defenders who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022 or earlier.

The key criteria for forming the queue for discharge will be two factors: the total length of service and the number of days of direct participation in combat operations.

The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that even if a serviceman concludes a new contract, this does not deprive him of the right to be discharged if a corresponding decision is made.

“The presidential decree on demobilization or partial discharge will have priority, and not the terms of the contract,” Fedorov explained.

The minister also clarified that the final decisions on the order of release will not be made by individual commanders on the ground, but by the General Staff, taking into account the combat path and length of service of each soldier.

It is expected that the new service will make the demobilization process more transparent and understandable for servicemen who have been at the front for years.
