The NBU put into circulation a commemorative coin “Ukrainian Cotton. Sea Baby Marine Drone”

The National Bank of Ukraine presented a new commemorative coin “Ukrainian Cotton. Sea Baby Sea Drone”, which has been officially put into circulation since July 29, 2026. The new issue continues the series dedicated to modern Ukrainian defense technologies and their developers.

The National Bank recalled that the first samples of the Sea Baby sea drone were created in 2022. Since then, this surface drone has become one of the symbols of Ukrainian military innovations and has been effectively used during operations in the Black Sea.

In particular, it was the Sea Baby that was used during the attack on the Crimean Bridge, as well as in a number of operations that resulted in the destruction of ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The denomination of the commemorative coin is 5 hryvnias.

The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized State Emblem of Ukraine, which compositionally merges into the silhouette of the Sea Baby sea drone, symbolizing the combination of state power and modern defense technologies.

The reverse is decorated with an image of a drone cutting through the waves of the Black Sea. Above it is the logo of the Security Service of Ukraine, and below it is the inscription Sea Baby, made in the style of military stencil marking. The letter Y is stylized as the international gesture Victory, symbolizing the victory of Ukraine.

The author of the artistic concept of the coin was Ukrainian artist Andriy Yermolenko, and the sculptural design was performed by Volodymyr Demyanenko.

The circulation of the commemorative coin is up to 75 thousand copies in souvenir packaging.

The novelty will be available for purchase starting from July 30 in the official online store of numismatic products of the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as in distributing banks that sell the regulator’s commemorative coins.

The new issue became another symbolic tribute to Ukrainian defense developments, which demonstrated their effectiveness during a full-scale war and received international recognition.
