The National Bank of Ukraine intends to strengthen oversight of the quality of cash in circulation.
To this end, the NBU plans to regulate the timing and frequency of quality control of hryvnia banknotes in circulation, with the participation of authorized banks.
A draft resolution has been developed titled “On Amendments to the Regulations on Quality Control of Banknotes in Circulation with the Participation of Authorized Banks.”
The changes are expected to facilitate a systematic assessment of the condition of cash in circulation and enable a prompt response to changes in the wear and tear of banknotes by denomination.
