The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports has reviewed the government draft law No. 0341 on the ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Canada on youth exchanges and recommended that Parliament adopt it in full.

The Agreement, signed on April 11, 2023, in Toronto, aims to establish a legal framework for implementing bilateral youth exchange programs.

Ratification of the document will enable Ukrainian and Canadian citizens aged 18 to 35 to stay in the partner country for up to one year. The program предусматривает opportunities for travel, temporary employment, and gaining intercultural experience.

Participation will require submitting an application, providing proof of sufficient financial resources, health insurance, and a return ticket or funds to purchase one, as well as meeting other conditions outlined in the Agreement.

Following its review, the Committee forwarded its conclusion to the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, which is designated as the lead body for further consideration of the draft law.
