The Rada plans to vote even during air raids: deputies will be given 10 minutes to descend to shelters

The Verkhovna Rada plans to change the order of work during air raids. MPs will go to shelters, but parliamentary sessions will continue after that.

This was reported by MP from the Servant of the People Olha Vasylevska-Smaglyuk. According to her, the new order of work during the faction meeting was told by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.

In the event of an air raid, deputies will be given 10 minutes to go to shelters. After that, the work of the parliament is planned to continue.

Voting will be done from phones and tablets

The necessary infrastructure has already been prepared for the work of the Verkhovna Rada in the shelter. In particular, chairs for 330 MPs have been installed there.

MPs will be able to vote using tablets or smartphones. For this purpose, personal QR codes are provided, by which deputies will go to a special page for voting.

Thus, the declaration of an air raid should no longer automatically lead to the suspension of the parliamentary session.

New mechanism being tested

In the coming days, MPs are to begin testing the new system. To do this, they will descend to the shelter in groups of 20 people.

During the testing, they plan to check both the operation of the remote voting mechanism and the organization of the transition of MPs to a safe room.

It is expected that the new format will allow the Verkhovna Rada to continue working even during prolonged air raids.
