The Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals has chosen a preventive measure for Vadym Stolar in the “Themis” case

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure for MP Vadym Stolar, who appears in the Themis case. The court set him bail in the amount of 300 million hryvnias without taking him into custody.

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in business and law enforcement circles. The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court also confirmed that a meeting was scheduled for September 11 to choose a preventive measure for Stolar.

What Stolar is suspected of

On August 20, Vadym Stolar was informed in absentia of the suspicion. According to the investigation, he is charged with criminal offenses under various parts of five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This includes, in particular, the creation of a criminal organization, unlawful appropriation of property, forgery of documents, and unauthorized interference in the operation of information systems.

The creation of a criminal organization is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with confiscation of property. Unauthorized interference in information systems committed during martial law can be punishable by 10 to 15 years in prison.

What is known about the “Themis” and “Forrest Gump” cases

Previously, the NABU and the SAPO reported on the exposure of a scheme for the raider seizure of real estate and other assets by the participants in the “Forrest Gump” operation. According to law enforcement officers, interference with the work of the Ministry of Justice’s information systems was used for this.

Law enforcement officers also stated that this group is involved in a scheme to legalize funds to pay bail for former Minister of Energy and Justice Herman Galushchenko.

The SAPO prosecutor previously named the individuals mentioned in the “Forrest Gump” and “Themis” cases. Among them are former Deputy Head of the President’s Office Iryna Mudra, former People’s Deputy Maksym Mykytas, and People’s Deputy Vadym Stolar.

It was previously reported that Stolar, who was outside Ukraine, had returned to the country.
