Judge of the Western Appeal Economic Court dismissed

The High Council of Justice has adopted a decision to dismiss Iryna Malekh from the position of judge of the Western Appeal Economic Court.

The decision was made on May 7 on the basis of paragraph 3 of part six of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

The High Council of Justice saw signs of a significant disciplinary offense

The basis for the dismissal was the submission of the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice, which concluded that the judge should be brought to disciplinary responsibility.

The decision refers to a significant disciplinary offense, gross or systematic neglect of duties, which is incompatible with the status of a judge.

The judge is suspected of selling court decisions

Previously, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Iryna Malekh in the form of a bail of 3 million hryvnias.

According to the investigation, the judge is suspected of receiving illegal benefits in collusion with other officials. This is a possible scheme to sell court decisions.

The case continues to be investigated

Currently, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all persons who may have been involved in the functioning of the corruption scheme in the judicial system.
