The Supreme Court of Justice refused to approve the agreement with Judge Matuschak in the case of illegal enrichment

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to approve the plea agreement concluded between the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the judge of the Western Appeal Economic Court Oleh Matuschak.

The court adopted the corresponding decision on July 13 within the framework of criminal proceedings regarding alleged illegal enrichment and entering false information into the declaration.

As noted in the decision, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to approve the agreement dated June 11, 2026 and decided to continue the pre-trial investigation in the general procedure.

The agreement was concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and the suspect with the participation of his defense lawyer. It was also approved by the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

Under the terms of the agreement, Judge Matuschak admitted his guilt and undertook to transfer UAH 12 million for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within three months.

However, the judge himself later announced that he would not be able to fulfill this condition. According to him, the third party who was supposed to ensure the transfer of funds refused to do so.

In this regard, the court did not approve the agreement, and the criminal proceedings will continue to be investigated in the usual manner.
