The US Treasury Department has removed seven Russian citizens, two Russian cargo ships and two Turkish companies from the SDN sanctions list.

The relevant information was published on the official website of the US Treasury Department.

Among the individuals from whom sanctions were lifted are Ivan Potanin, the son of Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin, as well as a number of representatives of the Russian banking sector, including top managers of Novykombank, FC Otkrytie and Sovcombank.

In addition to individuals, two Russian cargo ships, the Vyacheslav Arshinov and the Gennady Yegorov, which were previously associated with the Russian state transport leasing company, were removed from the sanctions list.

Sanctions were also lifted from two Turkish companies — IDA Asansor and DEIN DANISMANLIK PAZARLAMA VE TICARET ANONIM SIRKETI, which had previously been subject to restrictions due to cooperation with Russian structures.

At the same time, the American side did not officially explain the reasons for this decision.

Most of the excluded individuals and companies were subject to sanctions after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as part of Washington’s broad sanctions policy.

Let us recall that at the end of May, the US Treasury Department already reviewed the sanctions lists and excluded 76 outdated items from them. At the same time, Washington does not rule out the possible return of strict restrictions, in particular on Russian oil, depending on the development of international negotiations.
