US military plans to test Ukrainian developments on US territory

The United States has become interested in Ukrainian military technologies and plans to test a number of defense developments directly on its own territory.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the negotiations between Ukraine and the US.

What Ukrainian technologies interested the Pentagon

According to the agency, the US Department of Defense wants to test Ukrainian systems that have already proven their effectiveness during a full-scale war with the Russian Federation.

These include, in particular:

strike drones;

electronic warfare systems;

navigation technologies without GPS;

protected communication channels;

guidance systems using artificial intelligence.

In Washington, Ukrainian military technologies are considered to be among the most proven in modern combat conditions.

The US may sign contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers

According to Bloomberg, the US side plans to test the effectiveness of Ukrainian developments by its own military before making decisions on procurement.

Earlier, the Pentagon has already handed over to Ukraine a draft document of intent to test Ukrainian defense products. If the systems successfully pass the assessment, this may become the basis for future contracts with the US army.

In addition, the US is interested in gaining access to certain Ukrainian technologies and intellectual property for the possible reproduction of certain solutions in the US.

Ukraine and the US are working on a framework agreement

Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Olga Stefanishyna confirmed that the parties are already working on a framework document for further cooperation.

The US military is paying special attention to the Ukrainian drone control system.

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll previously called the Ukrainian drone coordination network “absolutely incredible” and noted that the American system currently does not have such a level of integration.

Ukrainian technologies can enter the global market

For Ukraine, potential cooperation with the US means not only financial contracts, but also the opportunity to gain a foothold among the key global manufacturers of military technologies.
