The Verkhovna Rada opened a new session: which bills will the deputies consider?

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has opened the 16th session of the 9th convocation. It will last until February 2027.
At the beginning of the work, the people’s deputies adopted a draft resolution on the agenda of the session.
As reported in the Verkhovna Rada, in the first reading, the parliamentarians plan to consider a number of legislative initiatives. Among them:
Resumption of monitoring of state aid to business entities during martial law;
Amendments to the Customs Code regarding international postal and express shipments;
Amendments to the Tax Code regarding VAT taxation of e-commerce.
The deputies are also to consider a draft resolution on the creation of an advisory group that will participate in the selection of candidates for the positions of members of the Accounting Chamber.
What will be considered in the second reading
In the second reading, the agenda included amendments to the legislation that relate to the activities of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Individuals, the National Bank of Ukraine, and collective investment institutions.
In addition, the parliament plans to consider a bill on the safety and health of workers at work.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk reported that the parliament has prepared for work in conditions of prolonged air raids. The Verkhovna Rada Office has equipped a special room and developed an alternative voting method that should allow deputies to continue working during the raids.
The 16th session of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation will last until February 2027.
