Ukraine has exported 630 thousand tons of agricultural products via alternative routes since the beginning of September

Since the beginning of September, Ukraine has exported 630 thousand tons of agricultural products via alternative logistics routes. This is about 40% of the volumes that the country could export under conditions of full-fledged logistics.

This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky. For comparison, in August, alternative routes managed to provide about 33% of potential exports.

What Ukraine exports via alternative routes

The largest share in exports is grains. Since the beginning of September, 380 thousand tons of grains have been exported via alternative routes, which is about 35% of the required level.

Ukraine also exported:

94 thousand tons of oilseeds – about 60% of the potential volume;

97 thousand tons of oil – 66%;

60 thousand tons of meal – about a third of the required volume.

According to Vysotsky, in September, alternative logistics works more efficiently than in August. At the same time, its throughput capacity is still significantly lower than under conditions of full-fledged operation of seaports.

Therefore, further expansion of alternative routes and restoration of full-fledged sea exports remain among the key tasks.

How the state supports farmers

Against the backdrop of logistical difficulties, the government continues programs to support agricultural producers. In particular, in front-line regions, farmers are provided with polymer sleeves for temporary storage of grain free of charge. More than $12 million has already been raised for the implementation of this program.

In addition, the liquidity ratio of grain as collateral for obtaining loans has been increased from 0.4 to 0.75.

Agricultural enterprises can also receive up to UAH 90 million in revolving financing under the “5-7-9%” program at 10% per annum.

The pace of lending to the agricultural sector is currently growing by approximately UAH 3.5 billion every week. At the same time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy estimates the need for agricultural producers in funds for autumn sowing at up to UAH 80 billion.
