Ukrainian drone engine manufacturer AeroMotors has attracted $550,000 in investment and increased capacity sixfold

Ukrainian company AeroMotors, which specializes in the production of electric motors for drones, has attracted $550 thousand in investment from the Swedish Front Ventures. Thanks to the financing, the company increased its production capacity from 10 to 60 thousand motors per month.

Swedish investor acquires a share of the Ukrainian company

The investment company Front Ventures from Sweden has invested $550 thousand in the Ukrainian manufacturer AeroMotors, receiving 5.5% of its shares.

According to the terms of the agreement, the total valuation of the Ukrainian company is approximately $10 million.

The funds raised were directed to scaling production and expanding the capabilities of manufacturing components for unmanned systems.

If previously the company could produce about 10 thousand electric motors per month, then after the investment its production capacity increased to 60 thousand units.

At the same time, this indicator reflects the maximum production capabilities of the enterprise, and not necessarily the actual monthly output.

What engines does AeroMotors manufacture

The company is engaged in the development, production and testing of electric motors for various types of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Its products include engines for platforms ranging in size from 7 to 32 inches. They are used in both FPV drones and heavier unmanned systems.

The enterprise also has its own capabilities for testing engines, which allows checking their technical characteristics and controlling the quality of products.

AeroMotors is part of the Ukrainian defense technology cluster Brave1, which supports the development of innovative solutions for the security and defense sector.

Production may be expanded outside of Ukraine

In addition to financial support, the Swedish Front Ventures is considering the possibility of promoting the further development of AeroMotors, in particular the creation of production lines in Europe.

Such expansion could open up new international markets for the Ukrainian company and provide additional opportunities for scaling the business.

However, the specific timing of the implementation of European production projects is not yet specified.

Ukrainian defense technologies attract foreign capital

AeroMotors already has experience in cooperation with international investors. Previously, the company, with the assistance of Brave1, received funding from the investment company MITS Capital, which supports the development of defense technologies.

Brave1 notes that venture investments directly in manufacturers of components for drones remain relatively rare.

At the same time, supporting such enterprises is important for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry, as it contributes to the formation of its own component base and reducing dependence on imported components.

Attracting foreign capital also creates additional opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian defense technology sector and strengthening its competitiveness in the international market.
